Baby & Tot Class: Bond with your baby and learn to communicate through our Baby & Toddler Sign Language. Babies as young as 4 months old can learn to sign and communicate their needs to their parents and caregivers: They are less likely to be frustrated while communicating their needs. Moreover, studies reveal sign language helps babies and toddlers to develop their ability to think and articulate earlier: They speak earlier and have a larger vocabulary. Studies also reveal children who learn sign language have a higher IQ and better grades in school. No more worrying or guessing if they’re cold, hungry or have a headache at 2am. These workshops are taught by Baby Fingers and are $200 for 8 classes. Space is limited to 12 students, pre-register by December 31st for Holiday Discount 20% off!

Adult Group Classes and Workshops: New Iyengar Classes Thursdays at 8pm starting December 4th, and Wednesdays at 7pm starting January 7th.

We’re thrilled to be cultivating an Iyengar Program at Pranavah Yoga!! Iyengar Yoga is ever evolving in Pune, India. Iyengar’s  family continue to teach in fresh and exciting ways. The Iyengar Family test theories and different approaches to teaching yoga, then disseminated their knowledge hroughout the Iyengar community. Iyengar pioneered the use of props: blocks, blankets, straps, bolsters, etc. to make yoga accessible to all people, young and old. Those who are new to yoga or new to the Iyengar method should begin with a Level I. In Level I classes standing poses are emphasized in order to develop strength, learn actions to create a sense of direction within the postures, hone one’s balance and cultivate a connection between the limbs and trunk. Inversions, seated forward bends, twists and rudimentary back-bends are introduced. In Level II classes, headstand is taught along with deeper backbends. Level II asanas are refined with more nuanced instructions. Students must be proficient in Level I before attending a Level II class.

This workshop is interactive and slow-paced to provide space for questions and answers.
Carolyn will introduce a pose, demonstrate it, and answer questions you may have. Practitioners will explore and investigate the asana thoroughly, ask questions before we move onto the next sequence. This workshop is an opportunity to interact with Carolyn on a personal level and use her guidance to dissect your practice and facilitate a greater understanding of the beauty and power of yoga.Inversions are the most powerful of the asanas. They are in part the reason why we do our asana practice: to build strength and flexibility to invert. There are many physical, emotional, and spiritual benefits to inverting. In Yoga philosophy it is said that inverting will reverse or slow the aging process. There is a nectar, amrita, that flows from the pituitary gland (from behind the 3rd eye) and drips down into the fire of the body where it is consumed. When we invert, we retain the nectar in its home of the pituitary gland behind the 3rd eye and are kept youthful.
Physically: inversions strengthen arms, legs, and spine while improving digestion, and stimulating abdominal organs, and the pituitary gland: the master gland that regulates the endocrine system and all the other glands in our body. Inversions are mentally stimulating, expand our consciousness, while leading us on the path of enlightenment. This non competitive, workshop is an exploration of one’s mental, emotional and physical abilities and limitations: understanding where we are on our path. It is a workshop of self-study or svadhyaya as well as inverting. This 2. hour workshop is designed for people who have been practicing yoga for at least 1 year.
Learn how to invert safely with proper alignment, focus and intention.Pre-register online for $35 until Dec 2nd or pay $40 at the door. Get  ready for some fun!!!
